In the upper balcony we will have a special area featuring works from the first annual Craigshead Green Junior Texas Talent Art Show. The art purchased will benefit the art programs at multiple schools for Lewisville and their students. All the art has been reviewed by the esteemed team at the Craigshead Green Art Studio during their 2023 New Texas Talent Art Show.
Juju has been trained in classical and experimental painting. She strives for more than mere technical accuracy, creating emotional bonds of creative energies. She creates a sense of place in the universe through her work via, light on her subject, or a fleeting expression in a portrait. Her work can be found in multiple galleries and homes throughout Texas and beyond.
I began my art journey later in life after ignoring artistic urges for decades only to discover in my forties that I was adopted and biologically came from a family of creators. My current preferred mediums are Linocut printmaking, photography, digital photo manipulation, and digital art.
Her art is inspired by the freedom and fluidity of human experience while honoring the structure and restraint required to navigate it. She solidifies heartfelt emotions through playful experimentation, engaging textures, found objects and hidden surprises that are both cerebral and emotional. Her art celebrates life's beauty through asymmetry and balance in an effort to harmonize chaos.
She is an artist that uses paint, beyond its simple form, to create unique and colorful sculptures on canvas. The use of dried paint, and the various forms that it can take on, can create some beautiful art! If her work makes one person smile, then she has colored their lives.
Dr. Cortney Baker, a stroke survivor and award-winning founder of a national healthcare enterprise turned to art in 2020 to find solace in what felt like a dark, hopeless world. What she discovered was life-changing—a love for painting and art that she'd never known existed.
