Talk about having Dallas at heart. This family was instrumental in saving one of the largest parades in Dallas history and supporting scholarships at the same time. That’s what I call a true double-dip. Chef Enrique Hernandez of Desperados will be at Palette to Palate to serve delicacies de Mexico.
Winner of the National Restaurant Association 2012 Faces of Diversity Awards
Desperados Mexican Restaurant has been serving Dallas area residents real dishes from the heart of Mexico and traditional Tex-Mex favorites for more than 40 years. Desperados’ landmark has been achieved through the vision of Jorge Levy who, along with two partners, opened the doors to the now historic Greenville Avenue location in 1976.
Desperados has always been involved in their community. They organized and executed, for eleven years a three day charitable Cinco de Mayo celebration with amusement park rides, 5k runs, bicycle races, beach volleyball, and even a beauty pageant. Desperados Mexican Restaurant and Jorge Levy partnered with the Consulate General of Mexico in Dallas and the Greater Dallas Restaurant Association to create Savor Mexico.
